The 150 pieces of Alb-Hegau ceramics from the LEIZA – originals as well as copies – provide a good basis to research the symbolic world, rituals, and manufacturing processes of the Early Iron Age.

3D scans.

With a highly precise 3D structured light scanner (Zeiss Atos Q) 30 Alb-Hegau vessels have been documented: their shapes, such as conical neck vessels, bowls, and plates, as well as their typical decorations. The objects vary in diameter (10-50 cm) and height (3-35 cm).

Alb-Hegau Ceramics
Regarded as “the peak of prehistorical pottery” between Lake Constance (Bodensee) and Swabian Jura (Schwäbische Alb), these vessels captivate with their artistic geometrical patterns that vary regional and chronologically. The objects can be found predominantly in burial mounds. Alb-Hegau Ceramics approximately date from 800 to 600 BC.
